What is Salary Cap Standard Football?
Salary Cap Standard Football is a fun and competitive game where you start with $35M Fantasy Dollars to build a team of 7 professional players. Before the season starts you have an unlimited number of trades to buy and sell players as often as you like, but once the season starts you only have 3 trades to use and then you are issued 1 more free trade each following week. The Salary Cap Standard season runs through all 17 weeks of the NFL regular season.
The objective of Salary Cap Standard is to score as many points as possible throughout the season. The top 40 teams, in terms of total points scored, at the end of the season will win a cash prize. The Salary Cap Standard games offers $3,750 in prizes including a $2000 grand prize.

How do I create my team?
On the splash page, click one of the 3 buttons to Get a Team, Create a League or Find a League. If you already have a FireLeague account you will be asked to log in if you are not logged in already. If you are new to FireLeague, you will need to register here.
After you login and create your new team, you will be asked to name your team. If you don't enter a team name, your team will be given the same name as your user name.

Can I create more than one team?
Absolutely you can create more than one team. A user can create up to 50 Salary Cap Standard teams.

How do I set up and join leagues?
You have a few options for setting up and joining leagues. Once you have already created a team, then you can click the Join a League button next to your team name a pop-up window will open giving you the options to either A) Be included in an Auto Assign league where we put you in a league with other users looking for a league B) Find either a public or private league by searching the league directory C) Create your own league where you choose the League Name and can upload a league image. Private leagues will require you to enter a password to join, so you will need to get the password from the league commissioner before you can join.

Can I change leagues?
You can move your team to a different league as often as you'd like. On the League Overview page, click the small Leave this League link next to your team name to be removed from the current league. You can then search for a new league or start one of your own.

Can I start a league after the season begins?
Sure, you can create a new league at any point in the season. Your league will only score points for days after the start date of your league.

How do I get players for my team?
Filling your roster is easy, from your team or league summary pages, click on one of the Open Position buttons. You will need the following players: 2QB | 2RB | 2WR/TE | 1 DEF
Before the first Roster Lock of the season you can make as many changes to your lineup as you want. After that, any time you sell a player, it counts as 1 trade. You'll start the season with 3 free trades, and each week you'll get 1 additional trade.
Please note: When you buy a player, you do not receive the points he scored previous to his being on your team. You only receive points for each day he plays while he's on your team, if he was on your roster at the time of his game.

How much money do I start out with?

How many players do I need?
You must have 7 players in place before the start of the last game of the day in order to score points for that day. If you do not have a full lineup, you will receive 0 points for the entire day.

How often can I change my roster?
During the preseason, you have an unlimited number of trades so you can change your roster as often as you want, but after the start of the regular season you will be charged a trade for each move you make. During the regular season, every time you sell a player, it counts as 1 trade. Each team starts the regular season with 3 Free trades, and each week you'll get 1 additional Free trades.

Locks? What are locks in Salary Cap Standard Football?
There are two kinds of locks that occur in Salary Cap Standard Football. Player or Game locks that occur at kickoff for a game that an individual player's team is playing in, and Roster locks which take place at 11PM eastern (for one hour) each Monday night. When a Player or Game locks occurs, it means that you can no longer sell a locked player for the day and you will get whatever points that player scores (as long as you have a full roster for that day). When the Roster lock occurs, you need to have a full lineup or you will not get players for the day. When the roster lock is over, any trades made will count towards the next day.

Why do players' salaries change?
Moving salaries make the game more interesting and add a different level of strategy to the game. Finding undervalued players and buying them when their prices are low can allow a manger to increase their team value and sell players at a profit, increasing their team value and potentially improving their lineup by spending the added funds wisely.

When do price changes happen?
Prices for players are updated every Monday at 11PM eastern and take approximately 1 hour to complete. During this time rosters are locked.

When do new players get added to the game?
New players are generally added to the game after they have made at least 1 start.

What can I do if technical problems make it impossible to make a trade or adjust my roster?
If technical issues occur and you cannot buy or sell players, please fill out the support form in our contacts page to email game-support@fireleague.com and provide the following information: the game being played (Salary Cap Standard Football), your User Name, Team Name, League Name and the name of player to be dropped to be sold and the name of player to buy. Once a game begins none of these requests will be honored. In some situations, we may receive many of these requests. We may not be able to fix each roster by game time. However, we will process the transactions retroactively as long as we receive the email before game time. We treat these emails as actual transactions so any move that you make after the email could be overridden. If you wish to cancel the email transaction, you must notify us with that request before the scheduled game time of the players involved.

How many trades am I allowed to purchase per season?
If you are in a league that allows the purchase of additional trades (all Auto Leagues do) then each user is allowed to purchase up to 108 Trades in a season.

How do trades work?
Once the first game of the season starts on Sept 9th, any time you sell a player it will deduct a trade. However, completing the trade by buying a replacement does not deduct another trade. Basically a trade is a Sell/Buy combination (but not a Buy/Sell combination.)

When do I get new trades?
When you register your team you will receive 3 Free trades in your Trade Center. Then, starting Sept 13th (and each Monday after) at 11PM eastern your team will receive 1 additional Free Trades.

Can I buy more trades?
Yes you can. Additional trades can be purchased for $0.99 for 1 trade; $4.99 for 6 trades; $9.99 for 12 trades; $19.99 for 25 trades.

Can I undo a trade and get my trade credit back?
Sometimes, if the player you sold today is not playing in a game that has already started or finished for the day, then you can buy them back and you will get your trade credit back. If their game has already started, then any trade would be counted for the next day and you would not get your credit back. If you reverse a Universal Trade the trade will be returned to your team in the form of a Free Trade.

How do I win?
There are many strategies that can be applied to help you win in a salary cap league, but in general you want to look for undervalued players who will give you the most points for the least amount of money. You may also want to consider the matchup for a particular player/team to adjust your lineup to get the most points.

When you buy a player, you do not receive the fantasy points he scored previous to his being on your team. You only receive fantasy points for each day he plays while he's on your team, if he was on your roster before that day's Roster Lock.

When are my stats updated?
Final updates to stats, points, and standings are updated late at night after each game day, normally by the next morning.

If you had an empty spot on your roster at the time of the Roster Lock, then you didn't earn ANY points for the day.
